what makes a phoenix

Inspired by people I know who have been through hard things - are going through hard things - and in all likelihood will continue to go through hard things.

What makes a phoenix, is that they rise from the ashes; but never only once. You may have gotten through something, risen out of it, and hoped that whew, it was over, thank goodness...only for something else to come up. And it happens again, and again, and again. And you keep standing up again. Sometimes it may feel like too much, to keep standing up when you get beaten down.

But every time a phoenix gets back up, it is reborn and it is stronger and more of a phoenix. If you choose to stay down when it's all too much, then that's okay, I understand. It's your choice. But...if you choose to stand back up...then you'll get to be a phoenix. And it's the phoenixes of this world that truly blaze bright.

Either way, I believe in you. And I always will.
