I figure y'all will like this page. ;)

As far as the cave where you had to use Flash...a smart decision would have been to take Mystery out of the box and use him anyway, and translate that into what happened in the comic, with him coming to help guide Rooke through. Unfortunately I didn't think of that until AFTER I had already found my way through the caverns just by wandering in the dark for ages. XD But I put it into the comic anyway, since it was ironic that I needed Mystery to get through, in order to find Mystery again.

But yes. This scene...this scene of the comic, I knew it would happen from the very beginning.

I always knew that Mystery's mom was Lugia. I mean, look at the clues, from the game alone. You are given this egg by the KIMONO GIRLS. Who are already known to have a connection to Lugia. They say it's a special and important egg. And in SoulSilver version, the egg hatches knowing Extrasensory. A Psychic type attack. The reason why they did this, I think, was to make that Togepi less of a pain to train, but the fact remains that it's a strong coincidence. ;) Ah, I remember the original Silver, where the only way to train that Togepi was to teach it Mud Slap from the TM you got from Falkner, and then very very very slowly train it until it could actually be useful...ah, memories. <3

Anyhoo, so the moment I was playing in game and figured that out, that this Togepi was LUGIA'S CHILD, I knew I would have this scene at the end, where it's revealed who Mystery's parent was, and that she was watching over Rooke through Lugia's eyes. I was psyched for it.

And then Mystery died.

That threw me for a loop. I was shocked. I mean, I had planned this already for the story...Mystery couldn't die...he needed to be there at the end, to find out he's Lugia's son! Then I had my epiphany moment - oh - OH - Mystery could come back. Lugia has powers over life and death (Ho-oh is primarily over life, Lugia primarily over death) and so Lugia could bring Mystery back to be Rooke's guardian angel. After all, his job wasn't done. She still needed him to watch over Rooke first hand, without directly interfering. Legendaries have to be cryptic like that, you know. And then all this could be revealed at the end, with Mystery as Ghost-Lugia-Mystery form.

After that, I wasn't nearly as sad about Mystery's death as any of you were, since I knew he was ghost-Mystery and Lugia's looking after him. XD

Some of you guessed that Lugia was his mom already, from the video of his death - but I was hoping most wouldn't, because that scene was indicative of Lugia appearing to him, but not in the way you think. I imagine, in Johto mythology and religion, Lugia is seen as a sort of angel of death, a happy one. She comes to the dying, to guide them to heaven, sort of deal. So that was more what I was thinking in the video, even though Lugia had a particular relationship with Mystery that was revealed to him in that moment. So rather than guiding him to heaven, Lugia just patted him on the head and sent him back.

Annnnyway. Then, of course, Lugia has to battle Rooke to see if she's learned anything. Why? Just because. Because you have to battle the dang legendary in game. We can pretend it has something to do with what they say in the games, you know, how Pokemon and people connect on a certain level through Pokemon battles. So a battle is the best way to show that Rooke's learned enough from her journey. I dunno.

The beautiful and amazing backgrounds were done by :iconskittystrawberries:! She is fantastic (and recently started her own nuzlocke, so go watch it!) :D

Unfortunately, the Togepi also has Extrasensory in HeartGold. While Ho-Oh can also learn the move, it'd have been cooler to give the Togepi Lava Plume or something like that to match Ho-Oh. In the end, the true reason for it knowing Extrasensory is just because it's one of Togepi's egg moves.
