Goodbye, My Friend

I lost Meadowside. *sigh* My poor, brave Vivillon.

I'm not as sad about it as I could be, since it is a video game. But I do want to pay homage to the little guy. And if this were a comic, it'd surely be a pretty terrible event for the team. After all, Meadowside was one of my first three on the team. He was Fenry's best friend. And Fenry couldn't even be there when it happened, since he wasn't with me in Frost Cavern at the time.

It was a trainer, a fighting type trainer, and Meadowside was fighting a Throh. It survived his Psybeam attack, and used Rock Slide.

Virdan, even though he was tired from other battles, rushed in in a fury to avenge Meadow. He dodged a Rock Slide attack from the Throh and used Fly, KO'ing it instantly. He fell from the sky like a thunderbolt, and the fight was over. It seems Virdan is the one that takes it upon himself to avenge all the fallen. He's a good leader.

We had to keep exploring the cave (and saved that Abomasnow from team Flare) until we could finally get out of there and symbolically bury Meadowside. In real life I put him in the box forever - in pretend-story, I imagine they buried him out among the pine trees, under the nearly clear night sky after the snow stopped. That was when I got Fenry out of the box, and told him the news. He helped bury his close friend, and lit a pyre over his grave to honor him. Poor Fen.

So yeah, I wanted to honor my little Vivillon's memory, and thus painted this. Ta dah. RIP, Meadowside.
