I had a mature blocker originally, but due to DA changes that blocks younger readers. So I just warn you now. Violence in this chapter. :(

Don't read below. Spoilers.

...

*sniff*

There are so many things I want people to notice about this page. So many good things. Like how cute Mystery is clinging to Scout's ears. Or how Granite gave him the top hat, from the Q&A, as his birthday present.

But people won't notice those, or comment on them. I know what they'll notice.

Oh, Smee... :icondragonweep:

In the game...I was just training Mystery...having him out first, and switching him out, you know? So we run into another Bellsprout. We must've KO'ed tons of the things. It was only level 6, for crying out loud. Smee was a level lower than the rest of my team, so I was training him at the same time. I switched him and Mystery...and it used Vine Whip.

Critical Hit.

OHKO.

It came out of nowhere. I really, honestly thought that Smee would be okay, like he'd been tons of times before. I thought the attack would do a little damage, and then he'd OHKO it. I didn't foresee the crit. I underestimated the type advantage. I overestimated his level advantage. It was truly, honestly, a mistake. One that I learned from, as I went farther in the game...but still a mistake, one that I regret.

I...I just...Smee...my first loss. My first nuzlocke, and he was my first death. Really, I only had him a short time in the game...but I still loved him. I loved that cocky little Wooper. When it happened, I actually did yell, "Kindle, blast that thing into cinders!" at my DS.

Smee... I wish I could have given him last words. Something. But there were no words there. His death in game was too sudden. He had no time to say goodbye.

I knew I wouldn't have long with him, when I first drew him walking up to Rooke a few months ago. I knew it. But drawing him...finding his character...it was like really meeting him for the first time. Discovering his back story, which I hadn't while playing the game, made it even more bittersweet. And drawing this page...it was like losing him all over again. I cried.

Smee...you will not be forgotten.
