Also, for those of you who will undoubtedly comment about animals kissing like humans would - here is my explanation. In my Pokeverse, the one in NuzRooke (not Misfits), Pokemon are highly intelligent and hold roles in human society. Wild Pokemon express affection in animalistic ways. Nuzzling, licking, headbutting, that sort of thing. However, trained Pokemon, over time, have adopted a lot of human mannerisms.

These include the language, primarily - trained Pokemon speak human tongue, rather than their own simplified Pokemon speech. Pokemon can also have jobs and other roles besides battlers, too, if they want to be part of human society. They adopt mannerisms like face-palming, biting nails, shrugging, all those little things that we humans do but the animal kingdom does not. (There are also normal animals in my Pokeverse, as well as Pokemon, so this adaptation is part of what seperates Pokemon from animals.)

Pokemon have also adopted forms of affection, such as courtship (dating) some even get married with a ceremony, and they also have adopted expressing affection through kissing, hand-holding, hugging, etc. Those are all humans forms of expressing affection, but Pokemon that spend a lot of time around humans have adopted them.

So that's that. :) Don and Lacy are cute together.
