Misfits 22 - Joy

When we got back to Canalave, Mo and Dia explained to everyone about what had happened with Aden, and the egg. They asked if we could take a break from training, and of course, I agreed. When I asked where they wanted to go for our vacation from training, the decision was almost unanimous - Floroama Town. Where Mo and Dia had met.

Gilly and Spirit, of course, made all sorts of jokes about Mo and Dia being an old wedded couple with a baby, but both of them were just as excited as the others. Gilly flew us back to Floroama Town, and I got a room for us to stay at, at the Pokemon Center.

The next few days we spent relaxing, taking a much needed break from the training scene. We had taken on three gyms in a very brief period of time. The team had deserved a break. We lazed about in the flower fields, went fishing in the river outside town, and tried some local honey delicacies. Floroama is a quiet, peaceful town, and it was wonderful.

I decided it'd be a good time for my surprise, too. I pulled out a present that I had found when we were leaving the mines - a Shiny Stone, as a present to Sir Calvin. I knew it would make him evolve. I asked him, of course, if he WANTED to, first...and of course he demanded it at once. So Sir Calvin evolved into Roserade, something which he had been anticipating since forever. "Finally, the form I have had on the inside all along!" He said, relishing it. "True might and elegance! I even have a cape! Finally, all can see me as I truly am, a prince among grass types!"

So Calvin is happy.

I decided to take Memnon the Psyduck, and his egg, out of the box, so that he could hang out with Mo and Dia. The three of them were anxiously awaiting their little ones to hatch.

And then it was, four days after we left Iron Island, that Mo and Dia's egg hatched. It was a little Riolu pup, of course. And just like Aden believed, it was a boy.

Mo and Dia named him Remus. I don't think I've ever seen them so happy.

He's quirky nature, somewhat of a clown. It's amazing, really, how much he's like Mo. Like most Pokemon, he was toddling around not long after he hatched. Mo and Dia love him to bits. He adores Mo - he likes to be carried in Mo's big palm or in the crook of his elbow, or on his right shoulder, or hanging from his tail. He even tried to play with Mo's head flame, which of course had to be discouraged. He loves Dia too - he's barely smaller than she is. She can't carry him like Mo can, but she hugs him and can even carry him on he back for "fly rides". The three of them are a beautiful little family.

And Memnon's egg hatched too. A little girl Happiny, who he named Flower, because of where she hatched, out in the fields. He and his little daughter are happy too. She's a stubborn little thing, Adamant and quick-tempered, but Memnon is as patient as a saint with her, and she loves her daddy. Remus and Flower are close playmates as well.

Rudder is the favorite uncle, bouncing the two little ones on his belly, or giving them rides in the river (with Dia hovering nearby.) Sir Calvin is trying to be the more austere uncle to them, but even he can't resist their little faces, and he lets them play with the petals and glowing Magical leaves he can make. Gilly said she'll give them rides when they're older, since she's such a fast flyer. Spirit likes to sneak up on them and yell BOO, which always results in the two dissolving into fits of giggles, then trying to catch him, their paws passing through his vapor, much to their delight.

The air of love and joy ever since the two were born has buoyed everyone's spirits. It's almost tangible. I can see that Rudder is a little envious, only a little, of how much Mo and Dia love each other and their little one. I can tell that he wishes he could have a family like that someday. Even Gilly and Spirit were affected by the love bug - I overheard them talking, wondering if maybe THEY loved each other. In the end, they laughed and decided happily that they were best friends, but not more.

In the end, I suppose, things have never been happier for us. I look at Mo, Dia, and little Remus, and I marvel. It's been half a year since I started my journey.

Look how much that crooked-grinned little Chimchar has grown.

(One more update after this, then we'll get caught up again. But yeah, happiness in the team. <3 I'd still like to find girlfriends for Sir Calvin and Rudder, if I can. Who knows? Maybe I'll find someone for them, yet. And if not in my game, maybe they have a future love somewhere else, with someone else... XD Hint hint hint I learned how to use the Wifi trading, so after I beat the E4, who knows? Maybe my little misfits will find love in other lands. )
