Description

I can't think of a good title for this. Ah well.

EDIT :iconkittenthepsycho: put this to the music! :D [link]

This is for :icongoddess-chachi:'s fanfiction contest...and it's also a look into Kito's backstory, as well. For those of you who don't know, Chachi has a nuzlocke comic, and in it is a Vulpix character named Kita. The two of us thought it was so funny, that we happened to choose such similar names, so we decided to make them brother and sister. I wish I could have shown more of that in the main comic of NuzRooke, but alas, Kito is a bit of a minor character. X'D

Based off of the song Brothers, from Full Metal Alchemist I believe. Here's the song if you'd like to listen and read at the same time. :) [link]

Basically, recap, this is Kito and Kita reminiscing about how things led to where they are now. Kito was always a bit of a player, even though he was the next-to-youngest prince in a family of royal purebreds. His frivolous nature was always a source of conflict between him and his father, King Edmund...especially how Kito would go running off with girls below his status. But he was very close with his little sister Kita.
When he fell in love with Elizabeth the Growlithe, that was the final straw. The fighting got so bad about it between Edmund and Kito, that even Kita tried to sway Kito, angry at him for disgracing their family, and frustrated with him because he was causing so much anger in the family. This led to some bitter arguing between the two siblings, and eventually, Kito left forever, without ever really making up with Kita. He still regrets that.

So in the comic up above, Kito is blaming himself for causing such hardship in the family, as well as for leading his sister astray, in a way. It was his example that later inspired Kita to make the final push to leave home herself, wanting to make her own way, like her big brother did. So even though she's happy, Kito feels kind of bad that she left behind a good home and loving family, and caused their parents a lot of grief too. He feels responsible. Especially with how their mother Natalia got alzheimers and now doesn't remember any of them. It was a bad time to leave.

Kita, of course, made her own decisions, and doesn't blame Kito in the least. But she does sometimes wonder, what might have happened had they both stayed...and she misses her brother and the relationship they had.

So yeah, there you go. That's the way I see it working out. Also, the line about no cure for death - no one dies, fyi. It's just the song lyric, so let's pretend he's talking about the death of his relationship to his family. Burning the bridge and all that.

Hope you like it, Chachi!
