:: I'll Protect You... ::

An entry for 's shipping contest, for her Nuzlocke Comic, "Crystal's SoulSilver Run." It's an awesome nuzlocke, you should go read it if you haven't!

And if you haven't read it, beware, spoilers are below.

The shipping I chose is the canon shipping, Saladshipping, which is Chikoru the Bayleef x Tepi the Togepi. They're adorable, and I hope that they truly end up together. I feel that Chikoru can help Tepi be stronger and more sure of herself, and she can help soften Chikoru's rough edges. <3

I was going to do the final panel as the full piece of artwork, but I wanted so bad to do this little scene that I made it a comic instead. XD I imagine this taking place not long after Silphe's death...and little Tepi is still having nightmares about the moment of her mother's death. That monster in her nightmare is the Spearow that killed Silphe. Unable, she feels, to go to Vast for comfort, instead she goes to the other person who reached out to her...Chikoru.

The shadow in the first panel, in case it's hard to tell, is Cyrstal's silhouette in a sleeping bag.

I like how this turned out. Here's hoping I place, and I hope you like it, Chachi!
